[NU Sports] NU prognosis

Until Mark Price and Steve Nash surpassed him, the best free throw
percentage in the history of the NBA (90%) was owned by Rick Barry, and he
threw them all up underhanded. Wilt Chamberlain tried that technique and
half-dozen others, but nothing ever worked. Had he been able to get the
free throws to drop, Michael Jordan would not have caught him in points
scored. The most astonishing thing about Wilt's 100 point game in Hershey,
Pennsylvania, was not the 100 points but that he was 28 for 32 from the foul
line that night. His career free throw percentage barely reached 50%.

And the underhanded free throw.

(and I didn't even follow basketball until the 70's)
