[NU Sports] Same old basketball

Well, no offense was intended Gene though obviously some was taken, but my point was that to be a NCAA team NU has to be the kind of team that can win tough road games and right now I don't see NU being able to do so. Since it is highly unlikely NU goes unbeaten at home -- at least one 10-point or more lead will be coughed up at Welsh-Ryan -- NU needs to an upset or two on the road and this teams shows no evidence of being able to do so.
I agree LSU (especially) was a nice win, but NU needs several more such and quality road wins do impress the NCAA committee when a team sits on the bubble.
Thanks for the hearty good wishes. I did have a great day, not just exchanging emails with you, of course (though that was no small part of it), but celebrating the festive season with friends and family and hoping every minute for a late Christmas present on Dec. 31 from Houston. Merry Christmas to all in purple everywhere!!!

If the criterion for a big ten team to go to the ncaa tournament is to beat
Wisconsin on the road then virtually no big ten team would go since Wiscy
loses about 1 conference game a year at home. I believe we beat MSU on the
road a few years ago and that did not do the trick. Based on the wins
below, if we break even, win one game in the big ten tournament we are in.
You have a great day.

None of whom are equal to a top-shelf or even mid-level big ten team and
they were on neutral courts. When this team beats MSU or Illinois or
Wisconsin on the road we can talk NCAAs. Not before.

Beats chumps, can't beat top teams, helpless on road, can't rebound, way too
many second and third shots surrendered .. 17 wins, loss at Penn State,
second-round NIT exit. Sigh.
And that is before the killer season-ending injury which NU has avoided so
far but ...
