This was in the papers here (in PA) some time ago. In this case, as I recall, the student-athlete has already graduated from St. Joe's, wants to transfer to UAB, attend grad school and play another year. Coach will not release him from scholarship....
sounds like a coach-athlete personal spat....more than anything.

An interesting story, but kind of a one-sided telling of it, I suspect.
First the kid goes from Bucknell to St. Joe's and then he
decides he wants to go to UAB. Academics doesn't seem to be the reason why
for either transfer.
