Sometimes, it's not who you pick but what week or two you choose to miss. Call it the "Alabama" path to the title game ... sit out championship weekend and wind up with a shot at the B(C)S title.

Our rules aren't quite as convoluted, but they do say that all you need to be in is more than 2/3 of the weeks and you're eligible ... week 12 was one of our worst weeks for all of us (Baylor beat OU, SC beat Oregon, etc.) ... but our champion chose to sit that week out and it helped Jim Leonard emerge from a close race to win his first Matt Hartl Award for overall picks champion! Congratulations to all our winners, and the updated Hall of Fame is at the bottom of this note! The bowl pool will be coming out soon.

But before we get to that, the honor roll ...

UNANIMOUS PICKS

* WISCONSIN over Illinois
* MSU over Indiana
* LSU over Mississippi
* OKLAHOMA over Baylor (oops)
- None in final two weeks

UPSET SPECIALS

* MICHIGAN over Nebraska
* PENN STATE over Ohio State
* USC over Oregon
- None in week 13
* CLEMSON over VaTech
* SOUTHERN MISS over Houston: A true upset special, only picked by Brad Wilson!

And now, to the big board ...

One last look at the SjTop 25 before the bowls, with a comparison to the preseason ...

SjTOP 25 COLLEGE RANKINGS

PSTWTEAM
0301LSU (13-0) - Unfair to make them play Bama after they beat them at Tuscaloosa already!
2002OKLAHOMA STATE (11-1) - Deserved the title game shot even though Lil' XII is overrated
0103ALABAMA (11-1) - Rematch? Yawn. But give Saban a month to prep and upset is possible
0504WISCONSIN (11-2) - Two Hail Marys from a title shot ... should be a heck of a Rose Bowl
0205OREGON (11-2) - Ducks better get tough in a hurry before Big Bad Badgers come calling
NR06MICHIGAN (10-2) - Brady Hoke should be coach of the year - huge turnaround in Ann Arbor
1407STANFORD (11-1) - Record is inflated by weak schedule - got clocked at home by Ducks
0708BOISE STATE (11-1) - One kick away from getting overdue respect and a title shot
2409USC (10-2) - Spoiled Oregon's title shot ... how did they lose to ASU again?
1310MICHIGAN STATE (10-3) - Tough way to lose a shot a Roses ... will they show up for bowl?
1711ARKANSAS (10-2) - Had two big games on schedule and just weren't up for challenge
1612SOUTH CAROLINA (10-2) - Had they been healthy, could have been in B(C)S mix
NR13KANSAS STATE (10-2) - Like Stanford, record is inflated by weak schedule ... but fun to watch
NR14GEORGIA (10-3) - Great for a half ... should be a hard hitting bowl game with Sparty
1115TCU (10-2) - Finished year strong ... robbed of a B(C)S slot by the Cartel
NR16CLEMSON (10-3) - Did they get early season magic back, or do they just own Hokies?1917VIRGINIA TECH (11-2) - How the heck did they get into a B(C)S bowl again? JOKE!
0618NEBRASKA (9-3) - Found life in Big Ten was tough, but can cap a nice year in Orlando

NR19BAYLOR (9-3) - Not sure if it was Heisman-worthy, but a heck of a season for Bears
0420OKLAHOMA (9-3) - At least we won't have to see overrated OU crushed in the B(C)S again
1521PENN STATE (9-3) - Shame on bowls for passing the team over ... heck of a year all things considered
NR22SOUTHERN MISS (11-2) - Played a heck of a game at Houston ... how'd they lose to UAB again?
NR23WEST VIRGINIA (9-3) - I guess I finally have to rank a Big Least team
NR24HOUSTON (12-1) - Exposed by a team that actually plays defense
NR25NORTHERN ILLINOIS (10-3) - Nice run to the long-overdue MAC title

And finally, the updated Hall of Fame ...
