[NU Sports] I understand Clark's frustration ... A bowl win has to be priority One ...

Nobody disputes that we want to win the bowl game but I wouldn't trade down
just to get a win. The best bowl game you can get to does more for the
program in the long run that a win against a MAC school would do. The
exposure is greater both in likely TV viewers and in recruiting, especially
in Texas a hot recruiting area. Recruits tend to pay attention to things
like which bowl you go to not whether you win it. The bowl experience for
the players is also generally better as you move up the food chain because
there is more money to spend on the participants' activities in the week
leading up to the game, plus the SWAG also tends to be a bit better the
higher up you go although SWAG is also greatly influenced by the identity
of the title sponsor.
Bottom line, for the greater long-term benefit to the program, take the
bowl that is the highest up the food chain barring highly unusual
circumstances.
