Not to mention that Texas A&M isn't ranked anyway. Beating them might be tougher than beating Western Michigan or UCLA, but a bowl victory over any of those teams would thrill me exactly the same.

IMHO Phillips has done a great job.

His job is to get NU positive visibility.

It's Fitz's job to win the games.

I think it much better to have a tough game against a ranked opponent than a layup against the little sisters of the poor.  Nobody is going to remember us blowing out an inferior bowl opponent.  It might help our ego to get a bowl win, but I think it is MUCH better for recruiting to see our "no-name" guys going toe to toe with the best in the country.
