The only bowl projection posts I usually read are NU alum Mandel's -- which 
usually do quite well -- and he appears to now have NU on the Houston bandwagon 
as well.

It appears more people are alerting the Houston Bowl folks to the fact that 
Sandusky's last game was a PSU/ATM Alamo Bowl and it might not be the best 
publicity. 

Not sure about NU "jumping" there for a few reasons ...

1) It's Houston. And to quote my NU geography prof, "Houston is the 4th largest 
city in America and the 4,000th most interesting city in America."

2) It's a tougher foe than Detroit, and we'd be playing the Aggies in their 
backyard

3) It's not the greatest time slot ... noon on New Year's Eve ... though I guess 
at least NU would be used to that from the Big Ten's TV schedule

4) Have I mentioned it's in Houston?

5) It just doesn't seem right ... I know the bowls are not about what's right 
and all, but there's no way NU, Iowa or OSU should be accepting bowl bids ahead 
of Penn State, a 9-win, top 25 team whose players did nothing to deserve this 
fall to Dallas.

But a bowl is a bowl and beggars can't be choosy ... it's a bowl and it's in the 
recruiting hotbed of Texas, so if that's the way the Cartel is swinging, I guess 
it could be worse.

At least we know that with ATM's habit of blowing big leads this year and NU's 
habit of playing better once they get down by 14 or more, we could have an 
exciting finish.
