[NU Sports] What was Sparty thinking?

Agree completely. Set up the return and go from there. They only needed FG to get to OT. By the way, not gaining another 5-8 yds at end of First Half was huge, given missed FG that really hurt.

This loss is enormous for MSU and Dantonio. Not only do they fall from Rose to Outback, but this was the chance--perhaps the only opportunity--for Sparty to burnish its "brand" in football and to gain the edge on UMich, OSU. Wisky and the Huskers--at least for a moment. They would have had prominence they hadn't seen since the '60's and Duffy Dougherty. And now that window $ay have closed. Guess they will always be a basketball school.

Some questionable calls down the stretch ... none as much as rushing the punt at the end. They would have had it at midfield at least with 2 minutes. UGH!!!

Wisky better stick with the game plan and the Smug Smirk better not choke up and get cutesy again ... just pound the ball and make for some Ducks roadkill in Pasadena to win it for the Big Ten.

Heck of a title game ... what a heartbreaking end for Sparty.

Hopefully the pollsters wake up and give the league some respect. Wisky and Michigan should both be B(C)S bowling, leaving UNL for the Citrus, MSU for Tampa and so on. Looks like we're heading for Detroit.

GO CATS!!!
