him at various NU Sports functions in Tampa, NYC,  West Point and Boston

Dear Jim:
 
As someone who lost "my hero" (my dad, Saul, who became a big 'Cat fan  
because of me) a little over a year ago at age 92, a few days before NU's win  
over Vanderbilt on the gridiron, I send you my heartfelt condolences.  He  
sounds like he was an amazing guy, and given your prolific efforts on behalf 
of  NU Athletics and the University in general, he must have been a profound 
role  model.   Know that all of us in the Northwestern community share your 
 loss, and hope that you and your family cherish his memory and that it 
gives you  strength in the days to come.
