Theisman finished a very close second to Jim Plunkett though was drafted only 99th while Plunkett was first

It was a great idea, though the slogan will never make the ranks of
great campaign themes, and the timing sucked, which wasn't really NU's
fault, as they had to get geared up for it before they knew if Dan
would be ready to go in September.
Was it a successful campaign? I'm not even sure what criteria to
use for that. Was it as blatant as when Joe Theisman announced his
name rhymes with Hiesman, when before everyone pronounced it
as 'Theesman'? Did he finish in the top 3 that year?
The promotion was deserved, though.
