[NU Sports] NU/ND renew football rivalry - just announced on Mike&Mike ESPN show

Another big score for AD Phillips - Notre Dame, in OUR house!

I just wish we had a bye before the game in South Bend so we could enjoy two weeks of reliving the 17-15 game. :)

Our NC schedule has certainly been beefed up and I LOVE this game - especially that it's a home and home ... not home and Soldier Field or home and two away. Nice job all around by Phillips!

However ...

You can't ignore that when looking at our schedules for the next few years now that it's gonna get awfully tough, awfully fast. Our Big Ten schedule now includes five of the following six (OSU, UM, Wisky, Iowa, PSU and Nebraska), plus our annual Illini rivalry, plus always tricky Sparty, plus Cal/BC/ND (Cal and ND both in 2014). That's not just adding a few tougher games - that's playing 4 or 5 of the legendary names in the sport every year, along with 4 or 5 other pretty darn good teams.

Can Persa stay another 4-5 years? :)

But overall, kudos to Phillips and everyone at NU - this is a huge coup and I can't wait to see the F'ing Irish walk into Ryan Field and see the place packed in PURPLE!
