[NU Sports] Big Ten schedules for 2013 and 2014

Given UN-L's experiences with coach changes over the past 10 years:
If I was the Prez of State Penn and had formerly organized the replacement of my head
football coach at a previous school (with all the troubles in Lincoln that Mike can attest
to), I think I'd let the long term coach call it quits on his own.

Personally, I'd rather see Jo Pa hang around until NU figures out a way to beat him either
at home, or at State College.

And the question for State Penn - if Jo Pa decides he's had enuff either this year, or
next, where is his replacement?

Will a new head coach revive the program? Or will it continue to slide (if that is what
they think up at State Penn now).

I'm a little more conservative about these things - unless a coach does something stupid
(see dOSU), I'd prefer the coach to leave under their terms, not the schools. IMHO, Too
many guys have been fired lately right before they could have achieved a decent team.

At least NU has the sense now to let the coach build a long term system, and not have the
"flavor of the month" that many in the Big 10 seem to want (see Michigan, Indiana,
Minny-soda)

both be in transition depending on JoePa's staying there). Though we do have a pretty good
rivalry with the cheeseheads going, so that will be good to renew. Still ... UW, Iowa,
UNL, OSU, Michigan, MSU, Minny and the Ill-ini ... that's about as tough a league schedule
as you'll find anywhere - including the SEC. Throw in a tougher NC schedule and it'll be
sink or swim time in the deep end.

Personally, I'd like to see JoePa hang in through at least the 2012
season so that he gets one more trip to Lincoln NE.

But Penn State President Graham Spanier, formerly the Chancellor of
the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, seems to want to force Paterno out
and might see a 2012 trip to Lincoln with Joe as head coach as another
threat to his power base.
