 Tex Winter, who was head coach at NU during parts of the 70's,was elected to Basketball's Hall of Fame. I guess his leading of the Cats to upset victories over Kentucky (1975)and Michigan (1977) must have sealed his claim. If I am not mistaken those 2 teams were runner ups in the NCAA the prior season
