[NU Sports] Jay Mariotti cops out to domestic violence

Mariotti settled his case today by pleading out to one count of domestic violence. Notice how his attorney characterized the crime as "a low-level misdemeanor."

In actuality, domestic violence in California is what is commonly known as a "wobbler" - an alternative felony/misdemeanor. It is thus either a low-level felony or a HIGH-grade misdeanor. A low-grade misdemeanor would be something like a trespass, petty theft, or uninating in public.
