[NU Sports] My question of the week....

I agree with the "let's get the W first" crowd (Minny will be a tough one) as well as the "6-0 would be what finally gets us ranked" crowd. But we just gotta win the gottawins and then let the polls fall where they may.

I want to chalk part of that up to the Big Ten bias, but we're getting respect this year (maybe because the ACC, Big Least and Little XII have completely fallen apart?) ... so maybe it's the academic thing? But Stanford is getting all sorts of love (#9? Really? For beating Notre Dame???).

I think the pollsters have just forgotten about us - which is fine with me. Just win on the field and the rankings will eventually come. It was a big step this off-season when the magazines actually picked us in the middle of the pack for once despite new leaders on both offense and defense - heck, some of them even admitted that NU has strung together two solid seasons. :)
