[NU Sports] heading in to conference play

I would suggest that every game is up for grabs. Thee are no guaranteed wins or losses that I can see. If we were to play the Bucs, I would view that as a loss but every other team we could win or lose. We have beaten teams that we shouldn't have and vice versa so Fitz needs to get them up every game

I think NU is capable of winning every game left on the schedule. I would not be
at all surprised to see us go 5-3. Or better.

Don't get me wrong--I don't see a single gimme on the schedule either. 4-4 in
the conference plus our 4-0 start would qualify as a good season in my book.

But I like what I've seen so far--a lot. And I like the fact that Fitz and
company have put together a record of teams improving from week to week.

The last 4 games look particularly scary to me, but I'm actually glad the
schedule lays out that way. For example, I don't know that the team is good
enough to beat PSU on the road right now. But with a month+ and a bye week
between now and then, they just might be good enough when it matters.

It some ways, it's actually unfortunate that Minny and Purdue have had such ugly
starts, because the NU game becomes even more important for those teams, making
them tougher than they might have been otherwise. On the other hand, it appears
they just aren't very good right now.

And if you want to get excited about next year, take a look at how few seniors
we're playing this year.

Tom
