[NU Sports] PENN STATE TO START VARSITY HOCKEY; BIG TEN TO FOLLOW?

Synchronized Skating.
Unfortunately the bigger problem is there needs to be  an on campus rink.  Robert Crowne just does not cut it.  It is a dump.  Btw the club team is back playing there this year after their long hiatus at centennial in highland park.

We contribute to the hockey team, but not in the hundred of thousands(or more realistically millions).

For NU to push hockey up to varsity would not only require the funds to
cover hockey but would require the funds to push a woman's team of similar
numbers (hockey, crew?) to varsity to assure Title IX compliance. That means
a double revenue hit to an already strained athletic budget so I wouldn't
anticipate it happening anytime soon.
