Its simple. Conference USA has a contract with ESPN; it can't be broken. Rice is at home; we're the ones who said"OK" to this series. We're not going to die by following NU on wgnradio.com on Saturday night. Call me "Old School": I'm happy that 11 of 12 games are televised.

To bring up a point that's been hashed out more than once, why are we scheduling home and homes vs. mid-majors? If we go to Houston, they should come to Evanston 2x. The only time we should schedule a home and home vs. a mid-major is Army/Navy; its in the east (eyeballs) and its the right thing to do; some things are more important than football. Screw Air Farce; they chopped Pat Durr's knees; and why play in Colorado?

Rice: In August, I saw this as our "problem child". While I still think Rice is a good team, I see a lot of pluses. The gane against Vandy served us well. Hot and at night. Persa may be better than what we all thought, and our "D" will give up yards but get turnovers and force FG attempts. We'll win 24-16; if Demos is OK it may be 27-16. I think Fitz will have the boys focused.

Let's do this. GO CATS!!! Eric

I know that the contract with Rice was probably signed well before the BTN came
around but in the future it would be great to see the Big Ten incorporate some
kind of broadcasting rights to away games. I don't care about the current
contracts or the legal issues, that can all be worked out. I just think there
should be a general policy that the BTN should have the option to show the
games.

Go Cats!
Jim
