[NU Sports] TV vs. the tele

While requiring national TV is an attractive idea, I'm afraid that it's not
practical or doable at the moment. Not all schools control the television
rights to their home games - NU being a prime example. All Big Ten schools
have ceded TV rights to their non-conference home games to the conference
so that BTN can pick up whatever ESPN doesn't. I believe the SEC does the
same thing and I'm fairly confident that the ACC has done so with its new
ESPN contract, as does the Big East. C-USA may not, so Rice may control the
rights to its home games, but it's not a provision that could be routinely
required in all non-conference home and home contracts.
