[NU Sports] NU/Vandy aftermath ...

Sorry to be late to the celebration ... was moving this weekend and stupid Qwest confused Sept. 2 with Sept 7 on when to change my Internet service over ... UGH! On the plus side, the HDTV and DirecTV arrived just in time to get all set up for the Vandy game. I have no idea how I went so long without. The game in HD was AMAZING! Even better with the win. Can't wait for Thursday night's NFL opener in HD! :)

Anyway, some game thoughts ...

- Loved Persa, accurate, smart and confident
- Hated the running game ... we need someone to step up besides Persa
- Loved Ebert as our new TD threat and Dunsmore as Mr. Clutch
- Hated how stupid penalties seemed to lengthen Vandy drives and spur their scoring chances ... Davies and the rest of the D missed some big tackles

I was kind of hoping for the 17-15 score in the fourth to hold up given our wonderful Sept. 2 celebration this week, but 23-21 is fine. I was about to praise our special teams until that final PAT miss left the game in doubt.

Overall, though, a great opener. On the road, vs. any SEC opponent is tough and Fitz' team rose to the occasion to eke out a win. No letdowns this Saturday!
