Sons and Daughters,

Welcome to a new year of Wildcat Football. The long wait is over, the world is
purple again and it's time to play football. Hail to purple, hail to white, hail
to thee Northwestern.

Our beloved alma mater is poised for another amazing season. Pat's Cats have
worked hard at Camp Kenosha and they are ready to take the Big Ten by storm. Our
offense has an excellent mix of veteran players and new talent. Our offensive
line is one of the best in the league. Dan Persa could not more ready to take
over this offense. Cheerleaders, get ready to do some push-ups.

Our defense will not give an inch. We have great depth and outstanding athletes.
Our d-line and secondary are ready to answer the call. Our depth at linebacker
is equally impressive. Over the years we have seen many incredible linebackers
with names like Sutter, Fitzgerald, Gardner, Harris, Silva,
Durr, Kadela, Roach, Arrington, and McGarigle. This year Quentin Davie will
continue the tradition at Linebacker NU.

It is a special thing to be a part of Northwestern football. We are a small but
fiercely loyal tribe. We know what it means to go to three extra stores until we
find a purple toothbrush. We refuse to walk the dog when we can't find his
purple leash. Our cell phones ring to Push On and GO U! We hang our purple
flags, wear our purple clothing, and play our NUMB CDs loud and proud.

The NU year begins today. This is our time and we are ready. From the dorms and
apartments in Evanston the students are cheering, “Let’s Go Cats!” From Orland
Park to Lincoln Park to Nevin’s Pub Chicagoland is cheering, “Let’s Go Cats!” At
alumni gatherings from San Francisco to Washington, DC they are proudly
cheering, “Let’s Go Cats!” Around the world all members of the purple pride are
loudly cheering, “LET’S GO CATS!!!!!!!!”

Happy NU Year to all. I will see you at the Rose Bowl.

Victory & Honor,
Jim
