Dantonio said it was Rucker's decision to travel with the team or not.  If he did decide to travel with the team he wouldn't start, but would be eligible to play.

I, like the rest of you, have a problem with this decision because it is the second time that Rucker has been in trouble with local authorities.

Regardless of what the internal issues were and the decisions by the internal team committees, it smells bad.  The problem at State has always been the perception that the inmates were running the asylum.  He had an opportunity to demonstrate that he was in charge and wouldn't tolerate this sort of behavior.  His actions clearly speak louder than his words.

I agree Mike, I bet he plays. This is their last major hurdle to a 12-0 season. 
However, it would have been admirable if MSU had issued a statement saying that 
Rucke has been immediately reinstated but has elected to stay behind in East 
Lansing to catch up on the coursework that he missed.

Aren't there limits on how many players they can take?  Why take someone if he 
won't play?
