Trib reports that Dantonio has only said that Rucker could travel with the team to Iowa. Didn't say that he would play.
Spending the biggest game of MSU's season so far on the sidelines is likely to be more painful for Rucker than staying home, particularly if MSU loses.
If he does play, I agree with you.

I have to disagree with Coach Dantonio's decision to immediately reinstate a
player the same day he is released from jail. I don't think this decision backs
up Dantonio's "zero toleance" policy.
Is there a requirement that football players attend classes? How did he keep up
on his academic work while he was in jail for 8 days? If another football player
skipped classes for 8 straight days he wouldn't be allowed to play against Iowa.
I would think Coach Dantonio would give him at least a week to focus on
schoolwork before letting him rejoin the team.
Go Cats!
Jim
