<It can no longer be enough for a true NU guy to walk our sidelines year 
after year

<- a credible, Big Ten championship caliber running game has not been

<- a credible, Big Ten championship caliber defense has not been developed
<- turnovers and penalties would seem to indicate some difficulties in 
preparation and discipline
<- there have been a few coaching decisions that have been questioned

Dead on accurate!  NU's football team has improved in talent, depth, and 
consistency, but it is not yet sufficiently talented, deep, and consistent 
to make the annual hunt for the Big Ten title a foregone conclusion, much 
less a national title.  I think it likely that Fitz will keep the program on 
an upward trajectory, but we need even more talented players who know how to 
study.  They are out there, but they've always matriculated somewhere else.
