It should be noted, though, that the UMD Bulldogs happened to win the 
Division II national championship that year, while the U of M-Twin 
Cities . . . well, if I recall correctly, they didn't win the national 
championship.  :)  Lots of jokes about the Gophers being the third best 
college football team in the state, behind Div. II cousin UMD and 
perennial Div. III power St. John's University.  -Joe
