[NU Sports] Bring on Sparty

Ok, I've had 48 hours to process the Purdue loss and now I've got my purple
back. We have a good (not great) chance to upset the Spartans at Homecoming.

The Spartans can't look past Illinois after what the Illini did to Penn State.
If the Illinois defense shows up it could be a physical game. The Spartans
suspended a corner back for the game (and he may sit out more games) which would
help our cause. I also think that if they beat the Illini they will be caught
looking ahead to Iowa. If they are undefeated coming in to Evanston they players
will be thinking that Iowa is the last major hurdle to a 12-0 season, a classic
scenario for a letdown game.

Also, by the time our game rolls around the message boards will be buzzing with
rumors that Mark Dantonio has been penciled in as the next head coach at
Georgia. (I will be starting those rumors next week) So, that will be an added
distraction.

This bye week break is a true test of whee Fitz is as a coach. He doesn't have
to win this game, but this will be an indication of how much mid-season coaching
he can do when given a very well-timed bye week. If he can correct the stupid
mistakes I think we'll be in this game. Throw in a little Homecoming magic and I
think we win.

Victory & Honor,
Jim
