Personally, I don't think it is Stephan's fault for the misses and blocks, altho he is
probably taking the personal blame for the kicking troubles this year.

So what has changed...?

Last year Zeke Markhausen was the holder and Demos hit 18 of 25 FG and was 9th in scoring
with 88 pts.

This year Williams is the holder and ... well we're not doing as well.

The dirty little secret in place kicking is the position of the ball when the kicker hits
it. If it is off line, crooked or not placed in the right spot, things can go awry, the
ball can be too low, too high, or hook or slice. The problem then becomes the holder who
is in his first year of holding and also first year of punting also.

I'm sure they've worked on it, watched film, etc., and maybe Stephan needs his ball a
little more accurately placed than other kickers, but if you set up your video and record
every place kick and mark the good ones vs. the bad ones, the good ones have the ball in
exactly the same place and angle every time.

Not every kicker can adjust for the hold during his approach, in fact I've known of very
few guys who could change the angle of their foot once they planted. Put the ball in a
slightly different spot, and the ball is hooked or sliced, kinda the same as golf, ya
know?

Anyway, I'd like to see more video of the holds, but for now, I'm more likely to blame
this year's kicking troubles on Williams than Demos.
