He had a bad night - many throws that were just behind or just over the head. Stats can be deceiving (look at Purdue's rushing yards - which essentially came on two plays) - he was off.

Yeah - we were really trying to do it at the start of the game and it worked, but Purdue adjusted at the half and clamped down and we never changed our plans. Plus, it kept Persa from getting into rhythm.

There are ways to make the short passing game into a running game - we did have some nice screen calls, but didn't use the middle of the field on quick slants much.

We just didn't deserve to win - neither did Purdue. We were clearly the better team and we played an awful game.
