That's a valid explanation--The Gophers have had a problem with giving up
too many really big plays. They have had a number of long clock-chewing
drives too, but some of those have fizzled, either with turnovers or missed
field goal attempts. Minnesota absolutely dominated TOP more than 3:1
against Middle Tennessee State, something ridiculous like 45 to 15, and in
that game it really was ball-control, with over 65 rushing plays and nearly
300 rushing yards. Since then, though, it has not been as pretty. -Joe
