    Tom and List Friends,

Tom is spot on. Seriously, how much better is this team, without Persa, than 2007 and 2004 when we sat home with 6-6 records? I know 2004 we were better as we lost the bookend games to start and end the season; at TCU and at Hawaii. This group is 2007 re-incarnated. I'd be happy if we were matched up with K-State, but the bowls in Texas are pushing for a Texas school, so that won't happen.
A look at Texas Tech: Paul's right, they have the better QB, but consider: Our defense has been shredded by the running game; they've been OK against the pass. If Tech throws out its play book for one game and decides to run, our defense "will like the change" from Illinois and Wisconsin. Look for Texas Tech to pass, pass, pass. Advantage: Cats. Then again, I called for a "respectable loss" vs. Wisconsin, but 7 turnovers...OUCH.
I still don't like Bielema; he's still a smug, smartass, but Wisky didn't run up that score on Saturday. Wisconsin played hard, smart Wisconsin football and didn't turn the ball over. Not sure what Fitz has in store to correct the 7 turnover thing!
Observation: Anyone surprised that Adonis Smith didn't get more touches? I must say, Stephen Simmons ran the ball effectively; something that was missed with the avalanche of turnovers.

Get our Cats on ESPN2 tonight against Georgia Tech; 7 PM. To close, I see a duck in our back yard! Steven thinks its been planted there by the BCS.

   GO CATS!!! Eric

Agreed--if I was going to "campaign", that's the destination I would push for.

But it doesn't seem realistic, or, frankly, fair. Especially with Persa on the

bench, it's hard to argue for the Cats to be picked ahead of any of the teams

above or tied with them in the standings (well, OK, Iowa maybe, who are clearly

struggling).

Basically, if you argued last year that the Cats should be picked ahead of

Wisky, then this year you probably should accept the Cats being near the bottom

of the bowl list.

Tom
