[NU Sports] Cat report card

Folks, we cannot fully count on Dan P. next year--at least at beginning of non-conference campaign. No one knows how quickly he will regain mobility. He may not have the lateral mobility and explosive speed and quickness he had before the achilles. It took me several months after the conclusion of rehab to really run and cut--although his youth and fitness and great athletic ability are in his favor. Thus, the O Line and RB's must step up and carry more of the load--whether Evan or Dan lines up behind center.
Does anyone know whether Trumpy has any chance of making it back for bowl game? I--and others on this List--am still waiting for Adonis to be given enough reps to show his potential "beauty" carrying the rock. I didn't think Trumpy would ever take it to the house--but he did at Wrigley. Smith seems to have that "home-run" capability--yet he never is in for more than one play at a time--and doesn't get a chance to get in rhythm. I have little doubt that his pass-blocking (or inexperience in picking up blitz) may be the primary reason, but his potential to be "the guy" in the backfield would seem to be a benefit that outweighs the downside. We need a running game more than ever without Persa to move the sticks. Any thoughts?------Original Message------From: Dennis W.
