Exactly - the Big Ten and NU can't start acting like we own the sport. That's the SEC's attitude. :)

Besides, from a pure competition standpoint, what kind of player or coach really WANTS this sham of a system? They want it settled on the field. You can't create a cartel, not let teams into it and then criticize them for not playing anyone when you refuse to play them! It's inherently unfair and if nothing else, NU should stand for integrity.

Exactly - the B(C)S is basically a welfare program to prop up the glut of meaningless mid-December bowls played in front of 40,000 empty seats that have as much to do with the grand tradition of college football as my left foot.

Its days are numbered and just about everyone in the business knows it. They can't keep propping up these bowls for 6-6 teams. They can't keep justifying keeping Boise or TCU out in favor of UConn or NC State. They can't keep dodging bullets with teams who have legit claims at a championship.

And most of all, they can't keep being the only competitive sport in the universe where a championship is not decided on the field or court.

Death to the B(C)S!
GO CATS!!!
