Well, sort of.

Back in the late 90's, the director of football operations for Nebraska called EVERY
school in the Big Ten and SEC, NOT ONE OF THEM was interested in a home-home series.

As I recall, schools that did express interest included Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Cal, 
Washington and Virginia Tech, most of them did subsequently schedule games against 
the Huskers.  

I wonder if a similar call was made next July, how many of the schools in the 
Not Quite As Big Twelve would say yes?  (Colorado has already indicated they 
have no interest in a non-conference series against Nebraska in the forseeable
future.)
