[NU Sports] At least one guy liked the game at Wrigley - Phillips

To all backseat drivers:

Attendance is up this year.

We have sold out more home game (including Wrigley) this year.

Quit second guessing the methods and focus on the results.

Step one: Sell all of the tickets however you can to whomever you can.
Step two: Sell all of the tickets to NU fans.
Step three: Sell all of the tickets ahead of the season to NU fans.

Important rule in event marketing. You can't skip to step three.

So I'm willing to trust that Phillips knows what he is doing. I also believe his ultimate goal is not to move every Wildcat home game to some other venue, but to do such a great job of marketing his product that every home game can be played at Dyche to a sold-out all-purple crowd.

Jeff

I wouldn't have a problem with playing there again if:

1. They moved the field further to the North so the NU team bench would be on the opposite
side of the field from the visitors.
2. They figured out how to get more end zone in the East End - Maybe move the field to the
West - so you could play both ways.

Like it or not, the change in the layout and the swapping sides effects one team more than
the other - you can't predict who will be shaken up, but it's one more change for a game
and any coach will tell you that change isn't always good. I know it's not supposed to
matter, but anything that is different on game day can cause confusion - especially among
younger players.

My 2 cents on the Wrigleyville deal. I just wonder why Phillips is so hell bent on getting
our games out of Ryan - filling up a neutral site with THEIR fans doesn't help when it is
OUR home game. Not sure how well the State Penn game with Indy did down in Washington -
that hype was buried by Wrigleyville - but I saw a lot of empty seats upstairs in FedEx
Field.

Something PSU wouldn't do is play Maryland down there - they don't even want to play the
Terps home and home.
