Shurna looked "off" in the 1st half; I thought UTPA played over their heads; and we played a little sloppy. Kudos to UTPA; I thought they played well. Even though UTPA got close, I believe we lead the entire game.
The UTPA announcers were a hoot! Probably my bad hearing, but it sounded like the play-by-play guy had a Scottish or Irish accent. Both were so lousy they were funny.

   GO CATS!!~ Eric

The "powerhouse from the Big Ten" to quote the UTPA announcer just escaped

from Texas with a very sloppy seven point win, begging the question why in

the world were we playing a game in Edinburgh, Texas in a gym smaller than

most high school gyms in Kentucky and Indiana. That aside, the Cats did not

look like a Big Ten team, much less a tourney bound team tonight. Chalk it

up to a tough road trip and an inspired opponent but the Cats looked out of

sorts, the shooting was off and they seemed a half step slow most of the

night. Still, they dominated the play and should have won in a walk. That

this game was not put away until the final 30 seconds is troubling,

especially considering both Loyola and Indiana State beat this UTPA by more

than 20 points, admittedly both on the road. Still, to allow UTPA to score

over 70 points when it ranked 300 or worse in almost every offensive

statistical category means Carmody needs a to work on defense a lot and this

is a veteran team. Can't wait to see what happens this weekend when the

Cats get home.
