[NU Sports] Crazy Story - Watkins/Fitzgerald

Let's see, is it plausible?

Of course, Fitz is out recruiting a Chicago area kid and voices something that a fair
number of NU fans were hoping for down the road - a game downtown.

Were we not speculating, a few years back, about playing Illinois in Soldier Field (or
Wrigley)? I don't keep e-mails that long, but we can hit Mike's history and see.

At the time, most of us were against it - we didn't want to lose the home game... now it
doesn't seem so bad.

Anyway, it’s a great recruiting story for Fitz - even his speculations come true.

On Fitz recruiting Watkins "I was joking with him last night, I said, 'Remember 
when I recruited  you and told you you were going to start your first game at 
Wrigley  against the Illini?'" 'Cat coach Pat Fitzgerald said Monday. "He kind 
of chuckled. I said, 'Just like we scripted, right?'"
