[NU Sports] Unique College Football Playoff Proposal

Sorry, don't like it at all. One loss should not completely eliminate a team
from championship contention.

Even if teams do try to schedule tough opponents, there are just too many teams
for ever team to face even remotely comparable degrees of difficulty, so a lot
of 1-loss teams will have faced much better competition than many other 1 or 0
loss teams.

And, of course, you'd have an even bigger incentive for teams to schedule
creampuffs.

If there's a problem with the BCS and it's predecessors, it's that the focus on
a national championship has cost us a lot of great cross-sectional games and
rivalries. Those are generally far more fun than any national championship game
in my opinion.

Any improvement on the BCS should reward a return to that kind of scheduling,
which is pretty much the opposite of what this does.

Always good to consider new alternatives, but I don't think this would be the
way to go.

Tom
