I believe the three frosh wideouts are under utilized for several reasons.

 1. They are still new to the system although hardly raw rookies by this 
point.
 2. Persa understandably seems more comfortable with the experienced 
receivers, Ebert especially.  Ebert wasn't used all that much his freshman 
year either and hardly at all last season because of injuries.
 3. The frosh wideouts in general often have problems getting open, and 
Ebert is drawing double coverage.  Persa runs or gets sacked often because 
there is no one to whom he can throw.
 4. No defense is going to honor our pathetic running game except for spying 
on Persa, so they're on the passing game a lot.
 5. Our weak offensive line cannot give Persa the time he needs to hit the 
deep man, and they aren't improving as the season wears on.  They looked 
good for a half yesterday and then utterly collapsed against one of the 
worst pass-rushing teams in the nation.
