[NU Sports] A disgrace

My fear, especially after today's debacle, is a 5-0 start, followed by a 1-6 finish, 6-6, 2-6 in the league, something like 8th place, a bottom feeder bowl game (the league has 8 tie-ins, plus a likely 2nd BCS berth for 9 bowl invites (and likely only 8 teams bowl-eligible)

Not the most inspiring way to end a season

PS how does the 35 unanswered rank on the all-time collapse list ? I know the Michigan State debacle a few years ago was the all-time collapse in D-1 history

I'm not sure where to begin. So I'll begin with yet another missed FG. In

the 4th Q, we can kick a FG to make the score 27-35, and at least have a shot,

but a missed 28 yarder changed that.

I agree with Steven about the 3rd Q. preparation. Very stingy and

unimaginative. And did we ever throw long? Don't tell me T. Jones or V. Mark

can't run and stretch the field.

I'm choosing my words carefully. I'm sore as these 2nd half melt-downs are

getting old. I'll stop now; to say any more accomplishes nothing.

One glimmer of light: In 1996 and 2009 (maybe 2005, other years? I don't

have a media guide handy) we came off brain-numbing losses to Penn St., only to

rid the sour taste out of our mouths by whipping our favorites, Iowa. There's

no question this can't happen again on Senior Day next Saturday. GO CATS!!

Eric

Danny boy, you did all you could. It's a shame you don't have an OL to keep out

one of the worst pass rushing teams in the nation and an DL who can stop the run

and pass rush. Damn I hate losing to Penn State.
