Of course it COULD. Realistically this means over the next X years we would have to beat out OSU ,a perennial powerhouse with hardly ever a bad year as well as michigan,who is on the way back up. Then of course Iowa,Wisconcin and PSU are likely candidates on any given year to win the conference.  Ah and then the Huskers will have to drop (or, tie) behind us. And of course just having a relatively easy schedule without OSU won't help too much when we will actually have to win the title game in the future not just have the best record

 I'm not betting on us winning the BT anytime soon

I could still happen this year. 

Not likely, but I believe a co-championship is still a possibility.
