[NU Sports] FW: stirring the Pat pot

This is somebody's pipe dream.
First of all, PSU is not going to hire outside when JoePa decides to retire. That's why all those high powered assistants are sticking around.
Second, I think Fitz still sees a lot of upside in his relationship with NU. As long as NU is willing to pay him and his staff competitively, invest in recruiting, invest in facilities, and invest in marketing; he's going to stay and keep building. All of those things that we said NU should have done for Barnett, they've done for Fitz. All of those things that we said Barnett could have done at NU, Fitz is doing.
I don't know what sort of conversations that Barnett has had with Fitz, but I hope he has shared with him some regret around his decision to leave NU rather than work out the issues he had with the AD.
Finally, I think it is interesting to compare the trajectories of NU and UoM who could easily end up with identical records at the end of this year. UoM with all of their advantages is perceived as still in disarray. NU with it's supposed limitations is perceived as a very well run program that is on the move. Why leave now?

Remember when all this talk swirled around Gary Barnett?
Same reasoning about NU then.
Who is to say what might happen, but Penn State can fire head coaches, just like every
other school and remember that Fitz once turned down Notre Dame (as a player)
