I realize this is just spreading rumors, but the list is slow.

Someone on the WildcatReport board on Rivals posted a message the other day. I summarized the three main points below. He claims this comes from someone who 'works for the Big Ten'. He includes enough detail that it almost seems serious, but I don't think it's credible.

1) The Big Ten is not pursuing a playoff arrangement for football. They want to keep the end of season rivalry games as the end of the Big Ten season. He also makes it sound like they want to go to five non-conference games (a 13-game regular season), which I'm pretty sure the NCAA won't allow.

2) The Big Ten is in serious talks with Texas, Notre Dame, and Nebraska. There is discussion about allowing Texas and ND to only play 7 conference games so that they could play more out of conference games. The author isn't clear as to whether the Big Ten wants any one of the three or all three in order to go to 14 teams.

3) The Big East is pushing Notre Dame to either play Big East football or leave the conference entirely. The author further suggests that the Big East and Big Ten have a deal where if the Big Ten can strike a deal with ND, then the Big Ten will leave the rest of the Big East alone.
