Wasn't Donnie May star of that
Dayton team? He was a favorite of mine as a Knicks reserve on 1970 title team.

For sure, the Flyers are my second team. Double bonus for Dayton to beat the Whining Illini!
Quick trivia q that Mr. Bendat knows - do others among us?
Name the two teams in the 1967 NCAA title game. (I was 8 years old.)

UCLA and Dayton.
The Bruins won, of course (79-67, if I recall).

So, we wound up losing to a team (Rhode Island) that made it to the NIT final four. Maybe that will somehow make some folks feel a little better.
And, as an added bonus, the Illini were eliminated by Dayton in a game that Alan Abrahamson must have thoroughly enjoyed, as his hometown Flyers beat our biggest rival.
