Nice, gritty win by Purdue as well. All the tri-champs survived and advanced from opening weekend.

That's three Big Ten teams in the Sweet 16 - more than the Big East, Big XII or any other league. The ACC only has one.

Interesting that only half of the "sweet 16" seeds made it through -- madness indeed -- five of those eight spots were claimed by the "mid majors" (who lost their only one sweet 16 seed in New Mexico early). The other three were claimed by the Big Ten, SEC and Pac 10. Besides New Mexico, the other seven sweet 16 seeds to drop included 3 from the Big East and one each from the ACC, Big XII, SEC and Big Ten. So the SEC and Big Ten are even, with the Big XII and ACC underperforming and the Big East waaaaay down.

Fun first weekend ... not fun for my bracket, but entertaining. Go Big Ten in the next round!
