[NU Sports] Are 'Cats NIT Bound

According to late-breaking news on Trib web site, NU is hosting NIT selection party, and Carmody is apparently confident of a bid:

Meanwhile, Tubby's guys are "in" and the Illini's bubble burst.  

I am sure everyone sat watching Selection Show on CBS thinking "what if" (we beat PSU twice, beat Iowa there, beat Indy there, etc.).  Oh well, there's always next year.

Meanwhile, NY Times had piece today on possible expansion to 96.  I hate the idea so incredibly much it isn't funny.  They will break one of sports' best events.  I don't hate BCS nearly as much as SJT--just dislike how they have diluted the Rose Bowl tradition-- but this I truly hate.
