[NU Sports] NIT Question

Regardless of what happens in tomorrow's game, both the Gophers and
Illini belong in The Dance. I'd say the Gophers are over the bubble,
and Illinois should feel good too. Fighting for a bubble spot coming
into the conference tourney, Illinois beat ranked Wisconsin and then
took a potential #1 seed to double OT on a neutral court. The Gophers
have won four straight (and destroyed 3 of their last 4 Big Ten
opponents by almost 30 points), in the last two games beating #11 MSU
and #6 Purdue. Both Minnesota and Illinois have five wins over RPI Top
50 teams . . . I think. Of course, that bolsters Paul's argument, and
the NIT would be foolish not to take NU, IMHO (but that's not to say
that the NIT won't overlook the 'Cats anyway). -Joe

If Minny and Illini are in the field of 64, doesn't it stand to reason that the 20-win 'Cats, with home wins over both teams, will look a lot more attractive to the "powers that be"?
