[NU Sports] Evil Empire speaks, says very little

Well, back in the Lou Holtz years before the first seismic shift of conference realignment, the Irish had an extremely tough schedule -- SC, Michigan, Penn State, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, etc. were all regulars and later on, Ohio State, Nebraska and others.
But their schedule has lightened significantly since those days -- and I think they fear that if the Big Ten expands, their three early Big Ten games will dry up soon, leaving them with SC and no one else.
It looks like the Texas overtures had their desired impact and the Irish are at least pulling their heads out of the sand to see what's going on.
GO CATS!!!
