Just consider we "owe" one to all of the teams down on the bottom of the league....

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's
       initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them,

Quite frankly - the non-NCAA tourneys really are meaningless anyway.

So HECK NO, we should not pay to host a game. Goodbye CIB, CBI or whatever the heck your
name is.

And NIT, you'd be stupid to pass on a 20-win team from the Big Ten, but if you do, then I
guess we just wait until next year.

It'd be nice to get the tourney experience for next year, but it's not worth paying for it
or begging the NIT for it.

On to Indy first. It'd be nice to see NU win a couple and make it to the CBS games.

GO CATS!!!
