[NU Sports] NU's football bang for the buck ...

I wouldn't infer that, and not just because it presumes that all 
scholarship football players would have been offered admission if they 
weren't athletes (and that they would qualify for need-based aid, and 
that they would choose to attend NU as a non-athlete anyway, etc.). 
Northwestern would have X amount of money to give in grants-in-aid 
whether it had a football team or not. Athletic scholarships are 
something completely separate and should not be confused with other 
financial assistance (which, for most of the "high percentage of 
non-athletes," really means loans).
