It is hard to believe the Ill-whine-I number as Zook is being paid $2-ish million and $8.5 for the rest is low. Maybe things like stadium upkeep are paid for from a different budget.
I can imagine they have more revenue than us with much larger attendance, but lower spending is hard to believe.
The only thing Northwestern spends more money on is travel for recruiting as we explore all 50 states and some provinces(Kevin Lawrence) for prospects.

Interesting article on spending figures for the six B(C)S conferences ... http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2010/06/29/big-spending-ohio-state-could-change-nickname-to-bucks-eyes/?ncid=txtlnkusspor00000002&xid=si_ncaaf
Reaffirms the theory that Ohio State is an SEC school in Big Ten clothing.
But it was a bit surprising to see NU around the middle of the Big Ten pack for football program spending ... I thought we'd be closer towards the bottom.
They have the records against teams spending more $$ and those spending less ... NU fares pretty well on both lists for the Big Ten ... PSU does really well, Iowa is overpaying.
Nebraska seems to fit in around the middle of the Big Ten as well.
GO CATS!!!
